Last Saturday, I lazily made my way over to London for an Aussie Angel event with a difference. Most events that I’ve been to have been crazy big events, but this event was held at the Spa at Chancery Court Hotel which was a relaxing change of scene.

After some cold soup (mango and ginger? What made it soup rather than a smoothie?), we headed into the changing room where we found stylists ready to do our hair, and baskets in the lockers with Aussie slippers, more 3 Minute Miracle (you can never have enough!) and a robe (above!)

I had an awesome massage first where I could hear my back clicking away (I really should have massages more often.) After that, I headed into the steam room with Kelly and Maria, where we tried not to burn our bums on the stone seating!

I had my hair style into a bun with a bit of a difference, it ended up looking like a cinnamon bun. Mmmm, tasty. There was a filming crew there, so we all went in individually to talk about Aussie products…I seem to giggle a lot when I’m nervous, I’m really hoping that video doesn’t appear online at all!

We ate yummy food (lots of salads and healthy things, of course) and gossiped in the relaxation room before getting to the main reason we were there. We headed into the mens changing rooms (we had the whole spa to ourselves, of course!) and were handed sunglasses to wear before we went in…

The new Aussie range is all about shine – making your hair look super shiny. I’ve been using the products for a week now, and I think my hair is a little more glossy with each use. The new range uses pearl extracts and ginseng to give your hair a new look, and contains peach, raspberry and strawberry extracts to give it a yummy smell. (Everyone at the event seemed to think it was a cotton candy smell, but its more fruity to me – whatever the smell is, its the usual delicious Aussie kind of smell!)

Here’s a few shots of my hair which hopefully show the new shine – in the first photo, I added some pearls on illusion string as a quick hair accessory which was super easy to make (Would you like to see a DIY for those? I was thinking of popping that up on my much neglected Tumblr account because it is just a little too easy to justify a post on its own!)

Head over to Kelly and Christina’s blogs – they’ve been posting about the event and a little more background into the new products!

Fancy winning a few little treats? Kelly, Christina and I have teamed up to have a little treasure hunt…head over to Christina’s blog post to find out how to enter!

Pinning My Hair

Aussie set their Angels a challenge recently where we were asked to pin to Pinterest things that made us think of Aussie – not just the products but everything around the brand. We were sent pinboards and a few things that were related to us (I was sent the cutest recipe book to put my own recipes in) I don’t use Pinterest, but I couldn’t resist putting together some photos from the amazing times I’ve had with Aussie.

Cupcakes and champagne have always featured at events, but more than that, the events and challenges that we’ve had have given me experiences I wouldn’t normally have had and introduced me to some of the most amazing bloggers I now call friends.

The only thing that saddened me a little when looking back at these photos is realising the people I could have been talking to much sooner instead of hiding in the corner – being shy is never good!

Thank you Aussie for the amazing times so far – I’m already looking forward to what’s next!

Happy Aussie-versary!

These blog posts all seem to start the same way, but on Saturday, I hopped on a train to London for another Aussie party, then a variety of tube trains – thanks TFL for shutting down everything out of Paddington except Bakerloo – and then another train to St Albans, as I was staying with the lovely Sarah (who didn’t force me AT ALL to say that) We had some lunch, then headed back to hers, picking up her friend Sha on the way. We all got ready in Sarahs room – its been such a long time since I got ready for a night out with other girls! Back on to the trains and tubes, and we ended up in Thirst with Lil and Christina. If you’re in London, I definitely recommend Thirst. Strong cocktails for less than a fiver!

The award winning (hee!) Vanessa stopped by to say hi, which was a bit more exciting that I let on. She is one of the most awesome people on Twitter, and her blog is such a great read – I was so pleased when she won a Cosmo Blog Award last week!

We went on to the venue (battling through crowds of tourists, the horrors), the Century Club. A lift took us up to the rooftop where we were met with the above – some Aussie “hunks” with glasses of champagne. They kept us well watered and fed with much champagne and yummy nibbles constantly being shoved in our faces. (A good thing too, because if there hadn’t been so much food, we would have been a lot more drunk! As it was, yeah, lets not talk about that)

There was an area set up where you could get your hair, nails or make up done – I had my hair done in curls by a chap who was apparently on the Great British Hairdresser (can you tell I don’t really watch much TV?)

It was a seriously fun night, lots of chatting to EVERYONE, and even some dancing (I fully blame Sarah for this)

Thank you Holly at Aussie and Sarah (both above!) for such a lovely weekend. More drinks and dodgy dancing again soon, please!

(photos stolen from Sarah and the 1000heads Flickr which has a mixture of photos taken by Holly and Sam, who was also the photographer at the last Aussie gathering!)
