HtCC: Collared

I love detachable collars. They can change the look of an outfit easily and are quite cheap (compared to buying a new outfit, anyway!). Heres a few I’ve spotted that I think I could wear.

This “antique embellished collar” from Topshop* (£32) was part of their online exclusives, but unfortunately its currently sold out.

I love this Gemma Lister Peter Pan collar* – unlike most of the other collars here, this looks like its more solid so wouldn’t lose its shape. Its also only £31.50 on ASOS* at the moment.

From Urban Outfitters, this crochet collar necklace* (£28) is much softer looking.

If you prefer something a bit more unique, this collar from Loulou Loves You (£45) is gorgeous, and handmade (so you’re unlikely to see someone else seeing the same thing)

Etsy always has so much choice, but my favourite was this studded Peter Pan collar from Girl Can’t Talk (£35) – so different to the other collars above!

If none of these take your fancy, then you can always have a go at doing it yourself – Lucy posted a tutorial about how she decorated some cotton collars or if you can crochet (unlike me!), theres a cute collar pattern here.

Shoe Porn: Charlotte Olympia

I have to admit, I’d love to have all of these shoes. Can you imagine, a rainbow of shoes on a shelf? Charlotte Olympia is the designer of these shoes, and whilst I’ve only picked out the more colourful designs here, she also creates some gorgeous shoes that are a bit more outrageous than I would normally wear!

These are from the Spring/Summer 2011 range, and despite looking really high, I’d probably be OK to walk in these because of the fat heel.

These Minerva laser-cut suede boots (£820) are so cute with their hidden platform, but at 6 inches high, perhaps not one for the cobbled streets that seem to be around the bars I like. I’m not very good with stilettos either!

I love these Paloma satin platform shoes (£590), but again, stilettos. I’m being tormented by beautiful shoes I know that I’ll wobble about on if I try to take even a few steps!

The website is still under construction, but theres lots of pictures over on the Facebook Page to drool over

My New Obsession

Since being forced by The Wife to get properly measured for a bustenhalter (otherwise known as a bra, it just sounds better in German for some reason!), I’ve been spending more time looking at pretty underwear – although because I have been measured now, I am now bigger than I thought and can’t really wear the nice stuff I love! Sigh.
Nevertheless, here are some of my favourite things…if only I had the money to buy them!

Sophistikitten

I came across Sophistikitten whilst reading The Chap (a fantastic journal, although where is the female version?) and fell in love with the 40’s style French knickers. The 40’s and 50’s are my favourite eras fashion wise, but I had never really considered the underwear from those times! Sophistikitten also sell skirts which are beautiful, and I’m very tempted by a black “Dora” (shown above) or a “Skirt-O-Matic” in gunmetal grey with red pinstripe. They don’t seem to do matching camisoles or bras yet for the knickers, but when they’re so pretty, who cares!

LouLou Loves You!

Ooh, LouLou Loves You has to be one of my favourite lingerie sites, with some gorgeous designs and delicious colours. The sizes go from A – DD or 6-16, and even if there isn’t anything that takes your pick (unlikely!), there are some beautiful accessories such as the Lola fascinator (I wish I had a wedding to go to this year now!) and the LouLou bows which can be pinned in your hair or on your outfit.
My personal favourite collections are the LouLou and Love, but I love them all!

The Modern Courtesan

Love love love this site so much! I had come across some of the items in the Sex in the City collection earlier last year (on a different website), and loved the Hot Desking skirt and Dealmaker shirt, although they were a little out of my price range. I mentioned about the beautiful stuff from Sophistikitten on Twitter, and was added by the Modern Courtesan soon after which is how I found their site. I love the Weekend in the County and the Spalicious ranges (although perhaps the spa dresses are a bit too much!)
