A Very Bloggery Christmas

If you’ve been, oh, I don’t know, under a rock for the past few months, you might not have heard of They’re an online fashion community who focus on cities around the country – when I first blogged about them, they were just focusing on Bristol, but its awesome to see more and more cities be announced every week!

Anyway. The ladies over at MyStreetChic have been organising a bloggers Christmas party to be held here in Bristol next month, which is open to everyone and it will cost just £5 – theres much more information over here though!

I know that not everyone reading this will be Bristol based, and as much as I’d like to let you all stay at mine (GIANT SLEEPOVER) I can’t. So, here are a few hotels that are reasonably priced and central – make a weekend of visiting this gorgeous city! Prices given are correct as of 23rd November and are based on 2 people sharing a room.

Premier Apartments (St Thomas St, BS1) – £72 per night for 2 people (They also have 2 double bedroom apartments for 4 people that are £129 for the night)

Brooks Guesthouse (St Nicholas Street, BS1) – from £70 per night for 2 people – a review/preview of the hotel can be found here

Clifton Hotels – (four different hotels around Clifton Village, BS8) – from £57 per night for 2 people

Premier Inn (The Haymarket, BS1) – £52 per night for 2 people (Premier Saver)

Travelodge (Anchor Road, BS1) – normally from £49 per night for 2 people, but tomorrow at 6am their £19 Xmas sale starts, which will include the date of the party. Theres more info on MoneySavingExpert which has more info on other hotel deals.

I’m pretty sure I’ll be going*, so hopefully will see you there (with a super sparkly outfit no doubt!)

* I say pretty sure, because while I don’t have any holidays booked at the moment for that time, it was around this time last year that Alex surprised me with my holiday to California (and unexpected holiday in New York, of course. And yes, thats the tree at Rockefeller Center or as I like to think of it, 30 Rock land)

Happy Aussie-versary!

These blog posts all seem to start the same way, but on Saturday, I hopped on a train to London for another Aussie party, then a variety of tube trains – thanks TFL for shutting down everything out of Paddington except Bakerloo – and then another train to St Albans, as I was staying with the lovely Sarah (who didn’t force me AT ALL to say that) We had some lunch, then headed back to hers, picking up her friend Sha on the way. We all got ready in Sarahs room – its been such a long time since I got ready for a night out with other girls! Back on to the trains and tubes, and we ended up in Thirst with Lil and Christina. If you’re in London, I definitely recommend Thirst. Strong cocktails for less than a fiver!

The award winning (hee!) Vanessa stopped by to say hi, which was a bit more exciting that I let on. She is one of the most awesome people on Twitter, and her blog is such a great read – I was so pleased when she won a Cosmo Blog Award last week!

We went on to the venue (battling through crowds of tourists, the horrors), the Century Club. A lift took us up to the rooftop where we were met with the above – some Aussie “hunks” with glasses of champagne. They kept us well watered and fed with much champagne and yummy nibbles constantly being shoved in our faces. (A good thing too, because if there hadn’t been so much food, we would have been a lot more drunk! As it was, yeah, lets not talk about that)

There was an area set up where you could get your hair, nails or make up done – I had my hair done in curls by a chap who was apparently on the Great British Hairdresser (can you tell I don’t really watch much TV?)

It was a seriously fun night, lots of chatting to EVERYONE, and even some dancing (I fully blame Sarah for this)

Thank you Holly at Aussie and Sarah (both above!) for such a lovely weekend. More drinks and dodgy dancing again soon, please!

Birthdays and Wishlists

Ooooh, its nearly my birthday. I’ll be 26 next month, and looking back at my list from last year, not that much has changed. I did get my iPhone (and how did I survive without it? Oh Apple, I bloody well love you) and I ended up buying the beautiful PPQ dress for Lou and Naths wedding (and ended up having a baby throw up all down it. Because I am just that glamourous.)

I’ve been compiling various wishlists, so instead of having to say “um, erm, I don’t know. Money?” when someone asks me what I want for my birthday, I can just point them at this list! Yay!

birthday 09

Amazon * ModCloth * ShanaLogic * Topshop

There are of course certain things that you can’t put on a wishlist, but I’d love the following things:

A house of my own (I know, I don’t ask for much. But this is my wishlist, so shh) * A decent blog theme (I’m a geek for putting it here, but it needs a makeover!) * A weekend in a gorgeous hotel in a random city (dare I say it, a mini break even) * A decent nights sleep (I honestly can’t remember the last time I slept all night without waking at 4am, and I seem to have lost the ability to sleep past 7am completely. A sign of age?) * An amazing party, in a fabulous bar with all my friends there (I already have ideas where I’d have it!) * A nice photo of me (I’m starting to think all cameras hate me)
