HtCC: Books

Books have gotten me in trouble many times. I used to get so engrossed in a book (especially at lunch times when I’d hide away in the library and devour whatever book looked good) that I’d want to carry on reading, despite those pesky lessons. I was rarely caught, until one day in science (a lesson after lunch, so it was to be expected) my teacher caught me reading What Katie Did on my lap.

As I get older, I am less likely to be caught reading a book I shouldn’t, but with things like Kindles, iPads and iPhones, that threat is reducing anyway. Perhaps I should cover those things in a fake book instead…

You can get book shaped covers for your MacBook or iPad, or clutches from ASOS in mint or blue (just £25!). On the more expensive end of the scale, this Olympia le Tan Alcoholics Anonymous is £1069. Falling somewhere in the middle (ish) are these cute Kate Spade book clutches with covers such as Emma, Romeo and Juliet or The Importance of Being Earnest for $325.

Kate Spade – Occasions

A random browse on Amazon brought up this set of books by Kate Spade…I bought them on the basis of the cover alone, so I was very happy when I recieved them and they were just as, if not more so, beautiful on the inside. Here’s a few pages from the Occasions* book. This book is about being the perfect host for all types of parties – from formal dinner to casual brunch get togethers. While the parties listed are more for a socialite rather than someone like me, I do find the diagrams of things like the different types of forks quite interesting!

HtCC: Kate Spade Accessories

A brand that I hadn’t heard much of before visiting California, Kate Spade is one of my favourites that I can’t indulge in easily. In the UK, we can’t order from their website, and we only have two stores, both (of course!) in London. That doesn’t stop me making endless wishlists of course.

These bangles (“Toe the Line” and “In the Spotlight“, $58 each) are not only pretty on the outside, but have a hidden message on the inside. (This seems to be a bit of a theme – inside my phone cover, it says “Have Courage”)

From the new range, I love these bold patterns – the pieces above remind me of the sort of thing Nubby Twiglet would wear – other people see things that bloggers they read would wear too, right?

L to R, Angelique sunnies – $128, Robin heels – $328, Thin Bow Belt – $78, Japanese floral trunk – $828

I especially love bright coloured bags like these (Clutch – $298, handbag – $448) – whats the point in spending lots if its something you don’t notice? I love the bright fuchsia bag – it reminds me a little of the Mulberry Neely or Harriet, but slightly cheaper.

Now, if we can just fix that small problem of not being able to order online in the UK, then I’d be totally in love!
