A Day In My Life

Thursday 21st May

The morning always starts with a brew

Waiting at Bristol Temple Meads to go to work

I wouldn’t survive the work day without my giant cup <3

Normally I scribble down what I’ve done in my diary. Normally we have power to our comms room. No power=no work. Not as much fun as it sounds.

Since we couldn’t do any work, we went to the pub for lunch. Stella and a salad, is there anything better?

The most productive part of my day included counting these desktops.

My bordom levels were high here.

Building work in Temple Quay

I went home to write up some notes.

Our first veg box arrived. It looks like real food.

And then there was sleep.

Snow, part 2

So I woke up this morning to a TwitterFon full of my London/South East friends all gloating that they had been building snowmen and having snowball fights at 2am while I was snug in my little bed. I looked at the iPhone weather thing, and once again Bristol was predicted to have snow. I turned on the radio, and managed to catch Greg James saying about how it was super snowy all over the country. I bounced out of bed and ran downstairs (because we have enormous windows -if Bristol was covered in snow, I wanted to get the best view possible)

Bristol, covered in snow? Are you having a laugh?!

As I walked down to Temple Meads to get the train to work, it started to lightly snow. And it’s not stopped all day! I’ve been refreshing Twitter at a ridiculous rate, catching up on the amounts of snow all over the city. It’s starting to come down quite well now, squeal!

Here’s my building at lunch time. It’s almost pretty!

This is the view from my window, just before we left for lunch. It looks crap doesn’t it? It was super snowy by the time I left the office at 5pm though!

And finally, because I never really need an excuse for a nice bit of cake, here is the KILLER billionaires shortbread from Sainos. It is a centimetre deep of caramel with chocolate chunks in it. And thats on top of some buttery shortbread, just to give it a base. So good, and yet I still feel a little sick looking at it.

Life in BIS

Today my boss and I cleared out our storage cupboard. We were quite ruthless, and now I have 27 laptops to throw away (including a pretty enormous one made of grey plastic and has a 1.4gb hard drive. Its about three times the size and weight of my 3 year old iBook)
This is what happens when I end up with a box of floppy discs, Zip disks (still shrink wrapped) and random CD-ROMs.

I was worryingly proud of the tower.
