Cross Stitching an Apple (logo)

For my second cross stitch project, I decided to do something a bit different to your usual flowers and puppies patterns. (I’m sure that they are very nice, but they’re just not me!)
This image is of one of my favourite logos:

(yes, I have favourite logos, such a business geek!)

I thought that this would be a great pattern to try. Again, using this tutorial, I produced a pattern, and got to stitching!
Some pictures of progress:

The first two colours

Three colours…

Five colours (not in my hair)

The finished item!

Update (April 2011): I still receive a lot of emails about this post, so thought I would update you. I wrote this post 2 years ago, and since then have changed computers because of a major failure on my old one. I no longer have either the PDF files of the patterns, or Photoshop to redo them. I used this tutorial to make it, but if you Google “Cross stitch pattern maker”, there are websites available where you can upload an image and get a pattern in return.
Regarding colours – I bought a bundle of embroidery floss from eBay to get my stash started which I then wound onto bobbins. Any colour numbers have since been lost.
I’m sorry I can’t be more help!

    Hi
I really like your Apple logo. Very impressed. I love to cross stitch but not good at creating my own patterns. I was wondering if you would be willing to share you pattern for the Apple logo.

      Hi Kathy,
I don’t have the pattern saved, but I think I linked to a tutorial which shows you how to make your own patterns in Photoshop. It was pretty simple :)
      Hope that helps!
